About Linda at Stock Market Gal

Hello! I’m Linda Davis and I want to tell you a little about myself. I am a mother to 4 children and grandmother to 5+ grandchildren. As an Air Force brat, I have lived all over the US and spent a good chunk of my childhood in Germany. I always had a love of math and was intending to pursue that in college until I picked up the flute in my senior year of high school and music became my passion from then on.
I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom while my children were small. I took care of all the home finances: paying bills and making and (trying to) keep a budget for a family of 6. I even dabbled in real estate, buying a house for our own kids to live during their college years as well as renting out rooms to other students.
(If you need help with budgeting, you’ve got to start with my Investing Readiness Challenge! It’s absolutely free and it’s interactive so all you have to do is input all your income and expenses and it will do the math for you! Just click here to get it sent to you!)
While my kids were little, I ran a private music studio teaching piano and flute lessons to make some extra income. After teaching privately at home, I jumped part time into the public school system when my youngest was in preschool and then became a full time music teacher when she started 1st grade. I currently teach full time in the Dallas Texas area.
As you can see, I have no degrees in finance or business. Just some personal experience in stock trading and self education. I am divorced after 33 years of marriage and am trying to figure out how to manage my share of the division of assets. Since I waited to jump in as a full time teacher to raise our children, my teacher retirement pension is relatively small, and I will be splitting most of it with my former husband. So it’s imperative that I make the best choices with my money.
